Education Credit

Seminole State College of Florida recognizes the value of continuous learning.  Seminole State's Education Credit program supports employees' professional development and can lead to additional salary adjustments, rewarding commitment to growth and excellence.

Education Credit (for Non-Bargaining Employees)

Compensation for Non-Faculty Employees Receiving Advanced Education allows additional payments for employees who receive a degree above what is required in their job description. Listed below is a brief overview of the program:

  • Non-faculty employees who have completed more than six months of full-time employment may apply for the program if the degree they are pursuing is above what is required by their job description.
  • Employees should submit a request form prior to beginning their planned program of study and submit all required information for supervisory approval through the Vice President, and then to the Office of Human Resources.
  • Once the degree program is completed, employees must submit certified transcripts to the Office of Human Resources in order to receive payment.
  • Payment amounts by degree are as follows and are added to base salary:
    • Associate in Arts (A.A.)/Associate in Science (A.S.) or the completion of 60 credit hours toward a bachelor's degree: $600
    • Bachelor of Arts/Bachelor of Science: $1,200
    • Master of Arts/Master of Science: $1,800
    • Doctorate: $2,400
  • To request a compensation adjustment to base salary due to earning an advanced degree, submit documentation for the Advanced Education process to HR Records at hrrecordsteam@seminolestate.edu.
