Seminole State Password and Account Information

The Seminole State account is used by students and employees for all college systems such as MySeminoleState, Canvas, Navigate, VerifyMyFAFSA, College email account, the Seminole State Application Portal (SSAP),  Handshake and campus computers/Wi-Fi login.

Seminole State Account Username and Password

Students

The Seminole State account username is created automatically when the student is matriculated. Students will receive two emails to the personal email address used during time of application. These emails will provide account details, instructions on how to activate the account, and information to setup the password through the Microsoft Password Reset Portal (SSPR). 

Employees

The Seminole State account username is created automatically when the employee is hired.  Supervisors will receive an email with account information that they can provide to the employee on their first working day. New employees will also receive an email to their personal email address with their account details, instructions on how to activate the account, and information to setup the password through the Microsoft Password Reset Portal (SSPR). 

Resetting your Seminole State Account Password

To reset your Seminole State Account password, please visit the Microsoft Password Reset Portal (SSPR).  You can receive your password reset information via text message or personal email address if you have saved them in  MySeminoleState. Once you update the password through SSPR, it will take three minutes before the password is synchronized across all Seminole State systems (email, Canvas, Navigate, MySeminoleState, etc.).

Password Complexity Requirements

Seminole State Account passwords must...

  • Not contain the user's account name or parts of the user's full name that exceed two consecutive characters
  • Be at least 11 characters in length
  • Contain characters from three of the following four categories:
    1. English uppercase characters (A through Z)
    2. English lowercase characters (a through z)
    3. Base 10 digits (0 through 9)
    4. Non-alphabetic characters (for example, !, $, #, %)
  • Password cannot be the same as the last 24 passwords used.
