Knowing how to find resources available to you can be a challenge. Seminole State College’s Office of Holistic Student Support offers a variety of programs and resources to support students with their health, hunger, and unexpected situations. Here you will find information to help supplement your basic needs and promote sustainability for overall wellness and success.

Foster Care Youth & Unaccompanied Homeless Youth (UHY)

The Director of Holistic Student Support serves as the foster care youth and unaccompanied homeless youth liaison for the College. This liaison can answer questions about your tuition waiver or support services.

Students Experiencing Homelessness

Students experiencing homelessness as defined by section 1009.25, Florida Statutes (F.S.), and Rule 6A-10.087, Florida Administrative Code (F.A.C.C) and are eligible for an exemption of the payment of tuition and fees are to contact the College's homelessness liaison to submit documentation for verification.

CCAMPIS (Child Care Access Means Parents In School) Grant

Raider C.A.R.E. Village
The CCAMPIS Grants helps eligible Seminole State College students pay for childcare while they attend classes. Through this program, student-parents receive childcare vouchers to reduce the cost of care at approved early learning centers, and additional supports to help you graduate. Visit the CCAMPIS webpage to see if you qualify and learn how to apply.

If you do not qualify for the CCAMPIS Grant, or would like to explore additional support, there are other childcare resources available to help. Seminole State College can connect student-parents with emergency childcare support and trusted community providers. Review these options to find additional support that may fit your family's needs.

Destination Graduation

Seminole State partners with the Heart of Florida United Way to help at-risk students access resources they need to stay in school. Destination Graduation is designed to provide students with the support they need to overcome barriers to continuing their education and completing their degrees.

Medical Resources

Through a partnerships with the Florida Department of Health in Seminole County, students can get health screenings, vaccines, health exams, blood tests, and more free of cost.  No health insurance is needed, and no deductible is required.

To provide assistance to students in need, Seminole State's Raiders' Pantry and Rally's Hygiene Resource supports students with free food and hygiene items. SNAP Benefits help those in need to afford nutritious food essential to health and well-being.

Seminole County Legal Aid - Free Legal Advice Resource

Seminole State College has partnered with Seminole County Bar Association Legal Aid Society to offer a free legal advice clinic to support currently enrolled students.  This resource program brings experienced staff attorneys to the Sanford/Lake Mary campus to answer students' legal questions.

In an effort to assist students with transportation challenges that may prevent students from getting to class, Seminole State College offers discounted transportation options for students.

  • Aspire Health Partners - mental health assessments, screening, and counseling. 
  • Community Health Centers - provides primary healthcare, behavioral health, dental, lab & X-ray, optometry, and pharmacy services and offers a payment assistance program using a sliding scale.
  • Covering Central Florida Project - assists community members in obtaining health insurance through the Affordable Care Act insurance Marketplace.
