Academic Success Center
Academic Success Centers on the Sanford/Lake Mary Campus, the Altamonte Springs campus and the Lee Campus at Oviedo are open for drop-in tutoring and computer workstation usage during the Fall 2021 term. Tutoring is also available online. See schedules at the links below.
The Academic Success Center (ASC) offers all Seminole State students free tutoring in math, writing and the sciences, as well as an open computer lab. The ASC staff consists of peer tutors; paraprofessionals with at least an associate degree; and ASC instructional support specialists with at least a bachelor's degree.
The Academic Success Center provides academic support to all currently enrolled Seminole State College students. The ASC supplements classroom instruction by providing real versus virtual tutoring in the sciences, mathematics, writing, accounting and Spanish. The ASC also provides students access to online handouts and practice tests, science models and computers to write papers or complete online coursework in several disciplines.
The Academic Success Center will strive to assist and promote a culturally and technologically diverse learning community by sustaining a highly motivated, empathetic and knowledgeable staff of student tutors, paraprofessionals and instructional support specialists.
