Since 1965, Seminole State College has had only three Presidents, Dr. Earl S. Weldon, Dr. E. Ann McGee and Dr. Georgia Lorenz. Given Dr. Weldon's distinguished legacy of more than 30 years of service and Dr. McGee's 22 years of dynamic and visionary leadership, the Presidents' Club serves as a timely tribute to their service.
The Presidents' Club was created to strengthen and support Seminole State College. Comprising Seminole State alumni, employees and community partners, the Club is a great way to help current students while networking with other friends of the College.
Presidents' Club membership is granted to individual and corporate donors who contribute a minimum annual unrestricted gift of $1,000. These gifts are applied at the discretion of Seminole State's president and the Foundation Board of Directors to the areas of greatest need at the College.
Areas Supported by the Presidents' Club
Presidents' Club funds are used to support numerous initiatives at the College, including:
- Scholarships: Presidents' Club donations are used to fund several Seminole State program scholarships, including the Honors and Science Merit scholarships.
- Mini-Grants: Mini-Grants are awarded annually and are used to support faculty and staff projects requiring alternative funding. Recipients are selected by members of the Presidents' Club Advisory Council.
- Programs: Presidents' Club funds help support growing academic programs, such as nursing or automotive. These funds may also be used to support the growth of College facilities.
