Event Photography

The Creative Services photographer may be available for only high-profile special events (i.e. Dream Gala, inauguration, graduation) that merit local, regional or national media interest. The Creative Services photographer does not photograph images taken solely for a department’s personal use or for mementos for the subjects of the photos. The staff responsible for hosting such events is asked to take their own photography or obtain a freelance photographer to document the occasion.  Our approved freelance photographer directory may be helpful in this situation.

Headshots

Headshots will be provided a maximum of once per year to full-time faculty and staff who may need to represent the College with professional portrait photography for the following reasons: publications, speaking engagement material, Canvas profile.

All headshots are photographed from the waist up in the Marketing Studio. The studio is located on the Sanford/Lake Mary Campus in room C100M.
Map: http://sem.st/mqpc

Please request your headshot through the TIM System and note specific reason/need for professional portrait photography.

How do I prepare for my headshot session?

  • Decide which clothing colors, patterns, styles or accessories you prefer to represent your personality on our gray background. Make sure clothes are ironed.
  • Pack a small supply kit with any items you may need including a comb, hair product, powder, lip balm, oil absorbing sheets, lint roller and touch-up makeup.
  • Arrive early to locate the studio, sign in and prepare for your session stress-free.
  • Upon arrival, follow the sign-in process posted on the wall in the waiting area, and have a seat until you are called.
  • Be sure to check our mirror and use the provided supplies if necessary.  Studio lights tend to emphasize skin shine, fly-aways, lint, and clothing wrinkles. The use of oil absorbing sheets and/or powder is highly recommended. Remember to check buttons and jewelry clasp placement.
  • Trust the photographer and have fun! Remember you’re being guided by a professional who knows how to make you look your best.
  • The photographer will direct you, but don’t be afraid to bring ideas of your own.
  • We do minimal editing so you look like you. If there is something you’re concerned about, let the photographer know during your session.
  • Before you leave, you will have the opportunity to view your photos and select your favorite 1-2 images.
  • As soon as your photos have been processed, they will be available to download through PhotoShelter.

If you don’t see them immediately, keep checking back. Processing time varies based on the photographer’s workload and may be extended during busy seasons.

Image Library

The Creative Services photographer maintains an extensive archive of photography (PhotoShelter). The database is continuously updated and is available to faculty and staff to provide efficient access to photos. Only Invited Users have access to download images.
