Daniel J. O'Keefe, Trustee
Daniel J. O’Keefe was appointed by Governor Rick Scott for a term beginning on July 12, 2018 and ending May 31, 2022.
O’Keefe, 62, of Longwood, has served as the managing shareholder for the Orlando office of Moore Stephens Lovelace (MSL) since 2005. He serves on MSL’s Board of Directors and is also group leader for the firm’s Governmental Practice Group.
O’Keefe is recognized as one of the top public-sector instructors in the state of Florida with over 40 years of public accounting experience, serving clients in the government, not-for-profit, SEC, finance, insurance, retail, construction and manufacturing sectors. He has provided accounting, auditing and consulting services to over 50 Florida municipalities, 16 Florida counties, four state agencies and numerous special districts and authorities.
O’Keefe serves on the Board of Directors of the Orlando Economic Partnership and is a member of the American Institute of CPAs (AICPA), Florida Institute of CPAs (FICPA), Florida Government Finance Officers Association (FGFOA), and Government Finance Officers Association. He has written numerous Continuing Professional Education (CPE) courses on governmental accounting and auditing, and has delivered CPE sponsored by the AICPA and FICPA, as well as served a four-year term on the Florida Board of Accountancy CPE Committee.
O’Keefe served as board chairman of the Foundation for Seminole State College in 2012 and is a past member of the Florida Chamber of Commerce’s Board of Governors. He holds a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Accounting from Canisius College in Buffalo, New York, and an MBA from Florida State University.
