Welcome Non-Traditional Students

Non-traditional students are a vibrant part of the Seminole State College community, bringing important life experiences that enhance the College experience, inside and outside the classroom.

Non-traditional students often model a strong commitment to their education, an ability to juggle myriad responsibilities and a wisdom that comes from additional life experience.

At Seminole State, nearly half of students are considered non-traditional. Non-traditional students are age 25 or older who may have obligations to work or to care for their dependents in addition to their studies. This also may include:

  • Veterans making the transition from military service to the classroom
  • Students who delayed enrollment in college.
