As part of the Biology Colloquium series, Seminole State College of Florida will host naturalist, author and award-winning wildlife filmmaker Paul Rosalie as he presents his topic “Protecting Earth's Wildest Places.”

The free event will be held on Thursday, Nov. 7 at 7 p.m., in Building J at the College’s Sanford/Lake Mary Campus. A reception will follow.

Rosolie has spent the past decade specializing in threatened ecosystems and species in countries including Indonesia, Brazil, India and Peru. He founded Tamandua Expeditions, guided trips with a focus on wildlife research and responsible adventure travel, to support rainforest conservation through tourism and his work has been featured on Discovery Channel and national media outlets.

His two books, "Mother of God: One Man’s Journey to the Uncharted Depths of the Amazon Rainforest" and "The Girl and the Tiger" have both received positive reviews for bringing awareness to environmental threats.

Following his presentation, Rosolie will be signing copies of "The Girl and the Tiger" which is available for purchase at all Seminole State Barnes & Noble bookstores and will also be available for purchase at the event.

The Biology Colloquium series is supported by Seminole State’s biology department, Faculty Center for Teaching and Learning, Environmental Initiative Club and Center for Global Engagement as well as the Wells Fargo STEMconnector.
