New Year, new study abroad opportunities with Seminole State

Pack your bags, Raiders! The new year is bringing ample opportunities to spread your wings and take your education abroad. With classes focusing on everything from biology to theater in countries from Austria to Cambodia, there is something for everyone. 

Travel Studies in Biology - Women in Science: Sustainability Studies in New Mexico High Desert (BSC 2950)

Travel dates: May 2 - 9

Along with Dr. Debra Socci, women who have an academic or career interest in science have the chance to travel to New Mexico to visit labs, hike and learn about sustainability. The trip portion is supported by the Seminole State Foundation Grant from The Atkins Foundation. For additional information view the flyer or reach out to Dr. Socci at soccid@seminolestate.edu.

Travel Study in Honors - Salzburg Global Citizenship Seminar (IDH 2950)

Extended deadline to apply: Jan. 17

Travel dates: May 22 – June 1

The Salzburg Global Citizenship Seminar provides students with an opportunity to explore what it means to be a global citizen and encounter ideas and views that are both literally and figuratively beyond the borders of the United States. Students will travel to Salzburg, Austria, and explore changing topics such as sustainable development, human rights, refugees and migration, and more. Temples, Testaments, and Transformations (INR 2950/THE 2930)

Travel dates: May 22 – June 6

Once an empire with Hindu traditions, Cambodia has transformed many times over in the face of changing political and religious landscapes, French colonization and the impact of the Vietnam War. Now, with a rising economy, Cambodia is reviving its arts and culture while growing a booming tourism industry. Students can study Cambodia’s role in a globalized world or they can focus on a theater appreciation track. History Meets Science - Exploring Gothic Paris and Surroundings (HPS 2100H)

Deadline to apply: Jan. 15

Travel dates: June 14 - 25

Journey through centuries of engineering, art and culture in the heart of Paris, France. Through experiencing the city’s historical architecture, visiting sites such as the Abbey of Mont St-Michel and the Avignon Palace of the Popes, students will get the chance to connect history and science in a way they never have before.
