Advising is an interactive process between a student and an academic advisor. At Seminole State, students are assigned an advisor to help them navigate the academic environment and make sound decisions in pursuit of their education and career goals.
Students can view their assigned advisor in their MySeminoleState Student Center, and click on the advisor's name to view contact information. Students are encouraged to meet with their assigned advisor or a counselor each term to discuss, clarify and refine their educational plans and objectives.
Counselors and academic advisors can assist students with:
First-time-in-college (FTIC) and first-term transfer students are required to complete an advising appointment. After completing Seminole State's online orientation, students will be asked to schedule an appointment from within the orientation system. New students will then be assigned an advisor to assist them.
Students utilizing Seminole State's eLearning/online resources and classes can request that a representative contact them by scheduling an advising appointment through the eServices website. Students also can contact an eServices Specialist via live chat on their website and via email at firstname.lastname@example.org.
