Seminole State celebrates National Apprenticeship Week

Apprenticeships open doors for students to earn, learn and lead. Seminole State College of Florida is proud to offer apprenticeship programs that help support Florida’s workforce and prepare students for success in high-wage careers. As part of the Florida College System, the College adds $1.3 billion to the local economy and thousands of graduates that fuel Florida’s workforce. Seminole State is devoted to providing high-quality, affordable postsecondary education.

The following events were designed to help expand students’ understanding of apprenticeships and how they can help build the future students envision for themselves and their families. These free events are open to both students and community members.

Wiginton Fire Systems Information Table

Date: Tuesday, April 28
Time: 11 a.m. – 2 p.m.
Location: Sanford/Lake Mary Campus Library

Stop by the information tables in the library to learn all about Seminole State’s apprenticeship programs, including our partnering employer Wiginton Fire Systems. The programs provide students the opportunity to earn during paid, hands-on training.


Delta Fire Sprinklers, Inc Information Table

Date: Wednesday, April 29
Time: 11 a.m. – 2 p.m.
Location: Sanford/Lake Mary Campus Library

Students and community members can visit the information tables in the library to learn all about Seminole State’s apprenticeship programs, including our partnering employer Delta Fire Sprinklers. Discover real world opportunities, ask questions and explore new paths for your future.


Apprentices Reveal How They’re Building Their Careers

Date: Wednesday, April 29
Time: 6 – 6:30 p.m.
Location: Online via Zoom

Join us for an inspiring session featuring our apprentice panel. Hear directly from current apprentices as they share their experiences, how they learn on the job and the way apprenticeships are helping them grow their careers. Tune in and discover where an apprenticeship can take you!


How to Excel as an Apprentice 

Date: Thursday, April 30
Time: 6 – 6:30 p.m.
Location: Online via Zoom

Get inside the mind of employers during this easy-access webinar. Hear directly from hiring partners about what they look for in apprentices and get practical tips on how to succeed. Don’t miss this insider input about how you can fast-track your career.


Seminole State offers apprenticeship programs in Fire Sprinkler Systems Technology and a Teacher Apprenticeship Program with a Cybersecurity Apprenticeship scheduled to launch later this year.
