A web developer develops software applications for the World Wide Web, or creates and/or maintains websites. Often mentioned in reference to web development jobs is "full stack developer," a programmer who works on either the front end (the parts of a website visible in a browser) or back end (the programming code, databases and other parts that are hidden from viewers).
