Can you believe your freshman year has already started? You might think planning for college is a million years away, but time flies and before you know it, school will be out for the summer. Here are some things you should consider during your freshman year.

Get to Know Your School Counselor

Talk to your counselor about your interests and the type of career you see yourself pursuing. Discuss which classes you need to take to set yourself up for college and your career. Don't be afraid to ask questions!

Prioritize Good Grades

This is the time to focus on establishing strong study habits. Your freshman and sophomore grades are included on your high school transcript and are considered for college admission (and scholarships), so be mindful of your GPA.

Extracurriculars Are Fun

Activities outside the classroom are an important part of being involved in high school. Volunteer and join sports, groups and clubs that match your interests. This is also a great way to meet new friends who share your passions.

Learn About Your Options

Your career options can seem endless. Get familiar with all the pathways out there and narrow your interests.
