Over 100 attendees gathered Wednesday, Aug. 7 in celebration of all who have helped the Foundation for Seminole State College of Florida achieve record-breaking fundraising success for the second year in a row.

The Foundation achieved new heights in all areas; providing $2.8 million in scholarships and program support for the College and its students. This includes an all-time high of $1.13 million in scholarship funds that provided 2,015 student scholarships with average awards of $567 that have truly made a difference in the lives of students.

“I am humbled by the level of support we have achieved this past year and just how ‘Seminole State-Connected’ our donors and community partners are to the College,” said Dr. John Gyllin, vice president of resource and economic development at Seminole State and executive director of the Foundation. “We are truly blessed to have the tremendous support for our faculty, students and programs.”

Seminole State President Dr. Georgia Lorenz welcomed guests and shared her appreciation for making these outstanding achievements possible.

“I have been inspired by your ideas, opinions and insights, and by your support for higher education and providing opportunity for everyone to take advantage of what Seminole State has to offer. Be assured that I am taking this information with me into our strategic planning sessions in 2020 to ensure that Seminole State continues to meet the needs of our community and can propel us even further forward,” said Lorenz.
