Optional Practical Training

Seminole State Students

OPT is temporary (1 year) employment for practical training which must be directly related to the student's major of study. The student must be "in status" for at least one academic year and complete an application. at least three months prior to completion of study. Students can apply 90 days before graduation and up to 60 days after your graduation date. OPT must be recommended by DSO in SEVIS and adjudicated by USCIS. Students are required to work full-time and must obtain a position within 90 days.
