At 7 p.m. prompt, our program begins as the Black Student Union takes the stage, ushering us into a realm of celebration and recognition, honoring excellence, creativity, and service within our vibrant community. Immerse yourself in the rich melodies of the Black national anthem, “Lift Every Voice and Sing,” beautifully presented by the talented students of Expressly You School of the Arts.
Dr. Lorenz, president of Seminole State, will give welcome remarks, setting the tone for an evening teeming with inspiration and significance. Witness the prestigious presentation of the Distinguished Service Awards, recognizing the extraordinary achievements of trailblazers Ingrid Burton Nathan, a beacon of courage as the first African American student to integrate Sanford Middle School, and Serita Beamon, an exemplary leader as the first female Superintendent of Seminole County Public Schools.
