Admissions Scholarships

Seminole State College’s Admissions Department awards thousands of dollars in scholarships to recent high school graduates. These scholarships are funded through student fees.

The Fall 2023 Admissions Scholarship Application is now available. Students may begin submit completed applications via email January 1-February 17, 2023.

Scholarships for Current-Year High School Graduates

Recipients of the following scholarships must attend Seminole State beginning Fall Term following their senior year of high school. 

Academic and Bright Futures Companion Scholarships

  • Academic Scholarship: $1,255 each Fall and Spring Term for two years.
    For recent high school graduates who earned a GPA of at least 3.0 and are ineligible to receive the Florida Bright Futures Scholarship. The scholarship will cover tuition and/or fees up to 12 credit hours per semester. It may be renewed for an additional year, provided the student maintains a 3.0 GPA.
  • Bright Futures Companion Scholarship: $300 each Fall and Spring Term for two years.
    For recent high school graduates who are Bright Futures recipient. If you are uncertain about your Bright Futures eligibility, it is recommended to apply for the Academic Scholarship. Students awarded the Academic Scholarship who become Bright Futures eligible, will receive the Bright Futures Companion instead.

For instructions on how to apply, please refer to the scholarship application. The deadline each year to apply for these scholarships will be in February. Students will be notified by mail if they are selected to receive a scholarship. Notices are sent in May.

Scholarships for Incoming Baccalaureate Students

The Baccalaureate Scholarship is a one-time award offered in the Fall or Spring and is worth $1,000. This scholarship is offered to first-time baccalaureate students who have been accepted into one of Seminole State's bachelor's degree programs and have a GPA of 3.0 or higher. Students applying for the Baccalaureate Scholarship will be required to apply for financial aid by completing the FAFSA, submit an essay, unofficial transcripts, and a completed scholarship application.

To apply, complete and submit the 
Baccalaureate Scholarship application by the deadline for the term in which you were accepted.
