Vendors and Contractors (Procedure 8.0600)
Purpose
The purpose of this procedure is to ensure a welcoming, safe, and secure environment for all members of the Seminole State community. By establishing clear expectations for vendors and contractors conduct and adherence to campus rules, this procedure aims to protect the integrity of the College's facilities and foster a respectful community atmosphere.
Vendor and Contractor Compliance
All vendors and contractors to SSC are required to follow College policies and procedures while on campus. These policies and procedures include but are not limited to:
- Health and safety rules
- Parking and transportation regulations
- Facility use and access rules
Unacceptable behavior includes, but is not limited to, the following:
- Harassing language or language of a discriminatory nature
- Messages that harass or threaten others
- Excessive or disruptive noise
- Consumption of tobacco, alcohol, or illegal substances inside college buildings or directly outside building entrances
- Disorderly, disruptive, or threatening behavior, such as engaging in unwanted or inappropriate interactions
- Making threats to the personal safety of employees, or committing violent acts
- Engaging in sexual offenses, including indecent exposure, inappropriate sexual advances (physical or verbal), or contributing to a sexually harassing environment
- Violations of local, state, or federal law
- Destroying or damaging College property
Vendors and Contractors
Vendors and Contractors are required to have company identification. Vendors and contractors must be able to produce identification upon request. Vendors and contractors will need to surrender their identification when being issued contractor keys.
Enforcement
Vendors and Contractors who fail to comply with college policies and procedures or engage in disruptive, unsafe, or prohibited behavior may be:
- Asked to leave campus immediately
- Issued a criminal trespass warning, prohibiting future visits to campus
Check-In
- Upon entering any SSC campus, all vendors and contractors must check in at the Office of Safety and Security.
- A printed time limited badge and a red lanyard will be issued and is to be worn during all times on campus.
- Vendors or contractors who will be on campus for over one week will be issued a special indemnification.
