Acts of violence – Any behavior or action, whether intentional or reckless, that harms or threatens the safety of another individual on College property. This includes actions relating to dating violence, domestic violence, sexual assault, and stalking.
Threats of violence – Any behavior or action that could be interpreted by a reasonable person as intent to cause physical, emotional, or psychological harm to another individual or property.
College Property – Includes all facilities, grounds, designated workplaces owned, operated, or leased by the College and non-campus locations used for college-sponsored events or activities.
- Seminole State College strives to provide employees, students, and visitors with a safe environment in which to work, study and conduct business. The College does not tolerate violent behavior of any kind or threats of violence, either implied or direct, on College property or through electronic means.
- The College strictly prohibits any act of violence, threat of violence, or behavior intended to cause (1) physical, emotional, or psychological harm to another person; (2) damage to College Property or the property of another individual; or (3) disruption of the education, work, or safety of another individual or group of individuals.
- Any employee, student, or visitor who exhibits any of the behaviors described in this policy will be subject to disciplinary action as described in College procedures and/or criminal prosecution as appropriate.
- Any weapons, including firearms, may not be possessed on College property except as provided by Florida law.
- The President shall cause procedures to be developed to implement this policy.
