 Policy

The College recognizes the important contributions of all faculty including those who are employed on a temporary basis. 

Faculty who are employed per state board rule in temporary, non-continuing contract earning, full-time instructional positions at Seminole State College will be designated as “Teaching Faculty.” 

The primary responsibility for Teaching Faculty is teaching in discipline or discipline areas in which he/she has specific training and/or competence. Teaching Faculty will plan, organize, teach, and provide feedback to students in a manner to promote successful student learning.   Teaching Faculty will also hold office hours and work to engage students outside of class in support of curricular and co-curricular initiatives.

Teaching Faculty will be issued a contract for a specified period of semesters not to exceed one year (12 consecutive months). Teaching Faculty will not be issued a continuing contract. There shall be no expectation of employment beyond the end of the contracted period. 

The President shall establish procedures to implement this policy.
