Christine Lowery

Current Seminole State Student and MIS Intern/Software Development, Siemens Energy

Working mom Christine Lowery found the flexibility her busy life demands at Seminole State College. Completing the majority of the courses required for her A.S. in Computer Programming and Analysis Degree online allowed her to “balance life, children, and work rather easily,” she says.

And, she credits her professors for delivering a quality academic experience.

“Each professor in the IT department creates an environment that I feel comfortable in,” Christine says. “They offer additional materials to inspire learning, always provide an open door for help or discussion, and really give you the feeling that they care about your personal growth. Each of them displays a sense of passion for their subject.”

With the support of those professors and the College’s Career Development Center, Christine earned a highly competitive internship at Siemens Energy, which she will continue while working toward her bachelor’s degree in Business Information Management at Seminole State.

“Without my education, I would not have been able to work in software development or with Siemens. And, now that I have decided to continue my education at Seminole State, I am able to stay in the internship during my studies which will hopefully further my career even more.”
