Give to the Laura Murdock Future Educator Endowed Scholarship
Established in honor of Laura’s dedication to teaching in Seminole County schools by her son and family to honor the over 25 years of service provided to Seminole County Public Schools, the Laura Murdock Future Teacher Endowed Scholarship provides tuition assistance to Seminole State College students pursuing a degree in education who are in need of a scholarship to help develop the next generation of teachers. Eligible applicants must have a 3.0 GPA or higher.
Laura Murdock has taught in Seminole County schools since 1999, including Winter Springs Elementary, Spring Lake Elementary and Bear Lake Elementary. She has touched the lives of thousands of students over the years. She returned to school to become an elementary school teacher by seeking an Associate in Arts at Seminole Community College, graduating in 1994. She continued to receive a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education from the University of Central Florida. She received a Master of Education in Education Leadership from the University of Phoenix in 2006.
Laura also is a former employee of Seminole State College. She worked at Seminole Community College’s Library as a senior media technology assistant from 1991 to 2008.
Josh Murdock shares that he hopes this scholarship “will allow someone to become a teacher that will impact thousands of children too.” The scholarship will continue the legacy of Laura Murdock's dedication to the classroom by giving back to others for eternity through educational opportunities for our future educators.
