Jack W. Guignard

The third in line of seven children born to Charles & Naomi Guignard, Jack recognized early the value of discipline and hard work as a 6th grader working at Sandy's market in St. Louis, Missouri. He maintained a strong work ethic and was never without a job. He also took his role as dad very seriously for which his family is very thankful.

Jack served from 1952 to 1954 in the U.S. Army stationed in Korea. His love for our country and conservative philosophy filled many passionate conversations. Upon his return from Korea, he attended Washington University in St. Louis. He graduated with a degree in business and choose a career in the Surety Bond Industry.

Jack enjoyed traveling and appreciated all our beautiful world has to offer. Music was a very important part of Jack's life. Whether he was playing drums, dancing with his wife or listening to the Orlando Philharmonic Orchestra. Jack loved it all.

In 1977 Jack founded Guignard Company where he worked with many area contractors to guarantee their construction projects. He earned a reputation for providing sound business advice and getting things done.

Jack shared himself with tremendous patience, generosity and wisdom in life. Using baseball analogies, his advice to family members would be "Life is all about your batting average. You have to step up to the plate and take your best swing."

The Jack W. Guignard Endowed Scholarship was established by family and friends after Jack's passing this summer.  The scholarship offers financial assistance to students who possess a GPA of 2.5 or higher and are pursuing a degree in either construction or music, specifically students specializing in percussion and participating in music programs at Seminole State. Preference will be given to students who demonstrate financial need.

Please join us in honoring Jack's wonderful legacy of life by supporting the next generation of construction and music students.
