Duke Energy Endowed Scholarship

As one of the largest energy companies in the United States, Duke Energy is at the forefront of new beginnings. Duke Energy's history began more than a century ago when James B. Duke led a group that built a system of lakes and dams along the Catawba River to generate electricity that would drive the economic growth of the Piedmont Carolinas. Through the years, many other companies have joined this tradition. Today, Duke Energy is dedicated to providing clean, reliable and affordable energy in seven states in the Southeast and Midwest. We're an industry leader in sustainable innovation, powering solutions to help our customers and communities thrive and grow – because energy is about more than keeping the lights on.

The Duke Energy Foundation is committed to powering the lives of our customers and the vitality of our communities with over $30 million in charitable grants each year. The Duke Energy Foundation makes strategic investments to build powerful communities where nature and wildlife thrive, students can excel and a talented workforce drives economic prosperity for all.

To advance educational opportunities, specifically in physical sciences, for the next generation of community leaders and to empower them for successful careers, the Duke Energy Endowed Scholarship provides assistance to students in a physical science field who maintain a minimum GPA of 2.5 with preference given to students taking courses at the Lee Campus at Oviedo.
