Give to the Benitez Family Endowed Scholarship

The Benitez Family Endowed Scholarship was established to support students pursuing careers in healthcare through the Allied Health program. The Allied Health pathway is both rigorous and rewarding, providing students with hands-on, pre-clinical experiences that place them at the forefront of healthcare innovation.

Aly and Alina Benitez share a deep belief that healthcare innovation and education are essential to the future well-being of our communities. Alina has dedicated her career to serving others, beginning as an intensive care unit (ICU) nurse before advancing her education to earn a Master of Science in Nursing. Today, she continues her commitment to patient care and wellness as the founder of Skora Skin, a medical aesthetics practice in Central Florida.

The Benitez family's connection to Seminole State College spans generations. Aly's mother attended Seminole State (formerly Seminole Community College), studying interior design. Aly has also contributed to the College's educational mission by helping develop and teach the Real Estate Law course in 2018. Establishing this scholarship is a meaningful way for the family to give back to an institution that has played an important role in their lives and to invest in the next generation of healthcare leaders.

Their passion for healthcare is also deeply personal. After a seven-year fertility journey, Aly and Alina were blessed to welcome two children into their family through advances in reproductive medicine and fertility care. Their experience reinforced the profound impact that healthcare professionals, scientific research, and medical innovation can have on the lives of individuals and families.  

Through the Benitez Family Endowed Scholarship, Aly and Alina hope to provide opportunities for students who may otherwise face financial barriers to pursuing their education. Their goal is to help future healthcare professionals achieve their academic ambitions, advance their careers, and make a lasting impact on the lives of others.

Seminole State students enrolled in Allied Health pathways (physical therapy assistant (PTA), medical laboratory technology, respiratory care, pharmacy technician) are eligible to apply. Preference will be given to students demonstrating financial need and/or a graduate of Lake Mary High School.
