Apparatus and Pump Operator
To be certified as a Florida State Fire College apparatus and pump operator, students must:
- Successfully complete 80 hours of basic certification training for apparatus and pump operators or have received equivalent training in another state.
- Pass a state written exam.
The Bureau of Fire Standards and Training requires two 40-hour courses for pump-op certification: FFP 1301 and FFP 1302. Seminole State College's Center for Public safety has incorporated the learning outcomes into one 80-hour course:
- FIR 0319: Apparatus Operations and Fire Service Hydraulics (Pump Ops)
