Center for Cybersecurity
Seminole State College's Center for Cybersecurity works to advance the practice and public awareness of information technology (IT) security through education and service. Our faculty offer guidance to students, members of different academic disciplines across the College, local government, and industry partners. We are dedicated to bridging education with exploration to provide an environment that fosters applied research in IT security, with a focus on innovation and learning.
The College partners with a group of industry leaders who are involved in advising and assisting with the curriculum and programs offered in the IT field. These industry leaders come from healthcare, law enforcement, consulting, finance, research and other local industries.
Seminole State College has programs in cybersecurity at the associate and bachelor's degree levels.

A.S. Information Systems Technology
The Associate in Science degree program in Information Systems Technology, Cybersecurity Specialization focuses on the principles and best practices in cybersecurity to protect and secure valuable information systems. Students in this high-demand career will have experience in desktops, servers, virtualization, cloud computing and security.
Seminole State College's Information Systems Technology Associate in Science Program has achieved Program of Study (PoS) Validation from the National Security Agency (NSA) through the 2030 Academic year. This is the first part of two of the Center of Academic Excellence Cyber Defense (CAE-CD) designation.
The CAE Cyber Defense (CAE-CD) designation is awarded to regionally accredited academic institutions offering cybersecurity-related degrees that demonstrate significant community involvement, engagement in academic activities, and institutional practices in cybersecurity that best prepare students with real world experience. This is in support of the National Cyber Strategy to address the critical shortage of professionals with cybersecurity skills by developing a domestic workforce pipeline using quality program standards.
The process requirements included meeting or exceeding the standards and expectations from the program faculty, students, curriculum, and continuous improvement. More specifically, it ensures the demonstration of rigorous cybersecurity curriculum, hands-on learning opportunities, mapping of program and course level learning outcomes, and the preparation of skilled graduates to enter the cybersecurity workforce.
Further degree program information can be viewed on the A.S. Information Systems Technology webpage.
