CTE program testing is required for some programs in which students enroll in a career certificate or applied technology diploma program offered for career credit of 450 clock hours or more (per Section 1004.91, Florida Statues (F.S.), Career-Preparatory Instruction and State Board of Education Rule 6A-10.0404 Florida Administrative Code (F.A.C.).
The Get There workforce education initiative aims to bring awareness to Career and Technical Education (CTE) certificates as an alternative to the four-year university track. By connecting students with educational opportunities and career pathways in their communities, the initiative helps students earn their credentials faster and begin their career in an in-demand field sooner. Career Pathways, a cooperative effort between Seminole State College and Seminole County Public Schools, allows students to prepare for college and a career.
The pathways are available in more than a dozen high school disciplines and are tied to career programs at Seminole State. Depending on the specific career path, students can earn up to 12 college credits for high school work, a savings of up to $1,000.
