Financial Aid Overview

The Office of Financial Aid and Scholarships is committed to serving all students. Our mission is to remove financial barriers and increase opportunities for student access to higher education by helping students and families seek, obtain, and make the best use of all financial resources. Although the College expects students and their families to make a maximum effort to contribute to their educational expenses, educational opportunities should not be limited by financial resources. Seminole State College’s financial aid program is available to supplement a family’s contribution and help meet the cost of postsecondary education.

The Office of Financial Aid and Scholarships provides each aid recipient with an electronic financial aid offer notification including information about financial assistance at Seminole State. Financial Aid eligibility is based on individual need, educational expenses, and the availability of funds. Students are encouraged to submit their electronic Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) as soon as it becomes available using Seminole State College of Florida’s FAFSA school code, 001520. The FAFSA becomes available October 1 each year. Students are responsible for reviewing their Student Aid Report (SAR) after their FAFSA has been processed by Federal Student Aid (FSA).

Students are responsible for checking their MySeminoleState portal and email regularly for information about financial aid.  Students should frequently review important items on the To-Do List tile in their My Student WorkCenter via their MySeminoleState portal.
