This methods course provides students with knowledge of developmentally appropriate social studies and creative expression concepts for children from birth through age eight, as well as strategies for integrating these concepts across the curriculum. Course topics include concepts of time, people, places, individual and global perspectives, the development of a sense of community, dramatic play, music, art, and creative movement. The course also addresses the assessment of child development and the design of appropriate accommodations to support the learning needs of all children enrolled in early childhood programs.
