Improving Reading Comprehension in the Classroom

Goal 1 of our Quality Enhancement Plan is all about improving reading comprehension in the classroom.

We are working to achieve this goal by embedding discipline-specific reading strategies in selected classes throughout the College. Faculty members will use an approach called Reading Apprenticeship to model disciplinary reading practices and to help students recognize their own reading practices.
