Lineworker Boot Camp Program

Seminole State's Lineworker Boot Camp is an 8-week, 200-hour program, designed in collaboration with industry partners, and serves as a foundation for mastering lineworker career skills for immediate employment. 

Program Details

Training includes pole climbing techniques, safe tool usage, operation of equipment, electrical concepts and power system knowledge.  The program's rigor and curriculum help prepare students for entry-level lineworker apprentice positions. Starting salaries for entry-level apprentices begin at $45,000 or more, with significant potential for wage increases as they progress through their apprenticeship.

Earn Certifications

Upon program completion, eligible participants will have the opportunity to earn the following industry-recognized certifications:

  • OSHA 10 (10-hour Occupational Safety and Health Administration course to obtain OSHA 10 card)
  • First Aid
  • Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)
  • Automated External Defibrillator (AED)
  • Commercial Learner's Permit (CLP is a critical step toward obtaining a Commercial Driver's License or CDL.)

Eligibility Requirements

  • Be at least 18 years of age
  • Possess a current and valid driver's license
  • Have a high school diploma or GED
  • Attend a mandatory orientation during the week of Aug. 11

Program Cost

The cost for the Lineworker Boot Camp program is $6,050. Full and partial scholarships available upon program admission!  Program cost includes:

  • Course fees
  • Course materials/handouts
  • OSHA 10 certification
  • First Aid certification
  • CPR certification
  • AED certification
  • CLP certification
  • Complete tool bag for entry-level employment

How to Apply

To be considered for the Lineworker Boot Camp, students must:

  • Submit the Lineworker Boot Camp Application.
  • Submit proof of valid and active driver's license.
  • Provide a copy of your high school diploma or GED.
  • Attend a mandatory orientation that will include a physical skills assessment and brief overview of program policies and expectations.
    Dates will be announced via email.
