Lineworker Boot Camp Program
Seminole State's Lineworker Boot Camp is an 11-week, 368-hour program, designed in collaboration with industry partners, and serves as a foundation for mastering lineworker career skills for immediate employment.
Program Details
Training includes CDL Class A, pole climbing techniques, safe tool usage, operation of equipment, electrical concepts and power system knowledge. The program's rigor and curriculum help prepare students for entry-level lineworker apprentice positions. Starting salaries for entry-level apprentices begin at $45,000 or more, with significant potential for wage increases as they progress through their apprenticeship.

Earn Certifications
Upon program completion, eligible participants will have the opportunity to earn the following industry-recognized certifications:
- OSHA 10
- First Aid
- Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)
- Automated External Defibrillator (AED)
- Commercial Driver's License-Class A (CDL)
Eligibility Requirements
- Be at least 18 years of age
- Possess a current and valid driver's license
- Have a high school diploma or GED
- Pass the Physical Skills Assessment
Program Cost
The cost for the Lineworker Boot Camp program is $11,206. Full and partial scholarships available upon program admission! Program cost includes:
- Course fees
- Course materials/handouts
- OSHA 10 certification
- First Aid certification
- CPR certification
- AED certification
- CDL, Class A certification
- Complete tool bag for entry-level employment
Boot Camp Dates and Schedule
Fall Boot Camp runs August 24-October 31, 2026
- Aug. 24-Oct. 9: Lineworker Skills Training
Mon., Wed. & Fri. 7 a.m. - 4 p.m.
Location: Seminole State College, Sanford/Lake Mary Campus - Oct. 12-31: CDL Training
Mon.-Fri. 7 a.m. - 5:30 p.m.
Location: Truck Driving Institute (TDI), Sanford
Application Process:
To be considered for the Lineworker Boot Camp, students must:
- Submit the Lineworker Boot Camp Application.
- Submit proof of valid and active driver's license.
- Provide a copy of your high school diploma or GED.
- Attend a mandatory in person interview with program faculty.
- Complete and pass the physical skills assessment.
