Easy Start is designed to help eligible first-time college students begin their journey with confidence. Participants receive a structured class schedule, personalized academic support, and financial assistance to reduce barriers to enrollment. Eligible students can start college with no out-of-pocket costs, making it easier to focus on success from day one.
Program Perks
- No out-of-pocket expenses (tuition, fees, and books included). The College will use a combination of financial aid and/or institutional funds to cover the student's costs.
- Take two classes during Fall 2026 and two classes in Spring 2027 ( one course during A Term and one course during B Term).
- Throughout the first year, students will receive coordinated support from Academic Advising, Academic Success Services, Financial Aid, Student Success, and faculty.
- Classes are available online or in-person at Sanford/Lake Mary, Oviedo, and Altamonte campuses.
Program Requirements
- Students are required to take two classes during Fall 2026 and two classes in Spring 2027 ( one course during A Term and one course during B Term each semester).
- Students will work with an Academic Advisor to determine their course sequence and class schedule.
Program Eligibility
To be considered for this program, students must:
- Be a First-Time-in-College student interested in earning an Associate in Arts (A.A.) or Associate in Science (AS) degree with Seminole State.
- Submit an Application for Admission for an A.A. or AS degree for Fall 2026 and be accepted to Seminole State.
- Submit the Interest Form.
- Be classified as an in-state Florida resident.
- Submit a 2026-27 Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).

Please complete the interest form by Saturday, August 15, 2026. Submission of the form does not guarantee acceptance to the program. Space is limited.
Students must have the following on file and completed by the August 15th deadline to be considered for the program:
- Easy Start Program Interest Form
- Fall 2026 Application for Admission
- 2026-2027 FAFSA
- Be classified as an in-state Florida resident
*Available financial aid, including pell grants, will be used to cover the costs of the Easy Start program. Any remaining costs will be covered by institutional funds so there will be no out-of-pocket costs to the student.
