This course introduces students to the collection, visualization, and analysis of healthcare data. Students will gain clarity and experience working with internal administrative data, as well as external public health data. Emphasis is placed on understanding data types, navigating large datasets, and using Excel to compute, visualize, and interpret results. Students will learn to access and evaluate public health databases, apply basic statistical concepts, and draw meaningful conclusions to support decision-making in any health information environment. Students must complete this course with a grade of "C" or higher.
Prerequisites: HIM 2272, HIM 2510, CGS 2108C with grades of "C" or higher.
