CHM2045 General Chemistry I

This course serves as the first semester of the two-semester general chemistry sequence. Topics covered include problem-solving, atomic and molecular structure, chemical formulas and nomenclature, chemical reactions, stoichiometry, thermochemistry, bonding models, gas laws, solutions and other selected topics. This course satisfies the General Education State Core Science requirement for degree seeking students.

Prerequisites: MAC 1105 with a minimum grade of "C" or higher or higher level mathematics course or test scores indicating MAC 1105 proficiency is required; CHM 1032 or high school chemistry is recommended.
