CET1600C Cisco Introduction to Networks

This course is designed to prepare the student to apply and understand the basics of networking. The course introduces the architecture, structure, functions, components and models of the Internet and computer networks. The principles of IP addressing, fundamentals of Ethernet concepts, media and operations are introduced to provide a foundation for the curriculum. Students will be able to build simple LANs, perform basic configurations for routers and switches, implement IP addressing schemes, and apply security best practices. This is the first part of a three-part series designed to prepare students for the Cisco Certified Networking Associate (CCNA) exam. In addition, this course prepares students to pass the CompTIA Net+ exam and earn the corresponding certification. Lab fee required.
