Tour Independence Hall
June 5, 2026
Experience Under the Dome: An Immersive Journey into Freedom and Independence and tour Philadelphia’s Independence Hall, where the Declaration of Independence was signed, at the Emil Buehler Planetarium on the Sanford/Lake Mary campus.
Liberty Tree Dedication
April 22, 2026
To commemorate the legacy of the American Revolution, a Gateway Elm was planted and dedicated as an honorary "Liberty Tree" on the Robert and Jane Lee Campus at Oviedo.
Summer Storytime
Seminole State Library Storytime featuring patriotic books and crafts, as well as professor of legal studies, Jordan Camenker, as Abraham Lincoln.
America 250 Welding and Fabrication Challenge
Students in the Seminole State Welding Program created The Torchmarker, a metal sculpture depicting a welder forging Lady Liberty's iconic torch.
Campus Reading of the Declaration of Independence
During the month of April, Faculty and students gathered at the library to read and discuss the Declaration of Independence.
