The Seminole State AFC Chapter creates opportunities for faculty and staff at Seminole State College of Florida to grow professionally, to cultivate a sense of collective purpose, and to seed a culture of service to its community.  Throughout the year the Seminole State AFC hosts a wide variety of political awareness events, professional development workshops, community service projects, and social gatherings.

Seminole State AFC members  ventured out to the College of Central Florida, Citrus Campus to share best practices and learn from their AFC colleagues from around Central Florida and from the Workforce, Adult & Continuing Education (WACE) Commission.

Faculty and staff took a little time at the end of the workday on Thursday 3/23 to join their AFC colleagues and get active at the Raider Center. 

Activities included guided meditation and pickleball.

Items Collected for Donation to the PACE Center

During the lead-up to the annual AFC Region III Conference, Seminole State AFC members collected books, games, art supplies, clothing and accessories for donation to the PACE Center for Girls, a non-profit dedicated to providing girls and young women with education, counseling, and training programs.

Soda Pop Aluminum Tabs & Used Batteries

Seminole State AFC collaborated with the Environmental Initiatives Club at the Lee Campus in Oviedo to collect used batteries for recycling.

Members on all campuses also collected thousands of soda pop tabs to donate to the Double R Private School in Chuluota in support of the Ronald McDonald House charity.

In support of National Breast Cancer Awareness Month (NBCAM), Seminole State AFC members donned their brightest pink on Wednesday 10/26. Group photos were taken at each campus.
