Summer Book Money Rules 2019
For the Fall Term 2020, we are offering online and remote courses. Remote courses show a day and time, and will meet virtually via live video. A limited number of labs, math, nursing, public safety programs, performing arts, automotive, HVAC, plumbing, and some language courses will resume on campus and are notated in the course schedule. For more information, view class types.
This contest is available to first time at Seminole State students and students who are readmitting to the College, who register for Summer Term 2019 classes from 12 a.m. on March 18, 2019, to 11:59 p.m. on May 1, 2019. Eligible students will be automatically entered for a chance to win if they meet the following criteria:
- Register for a minimum of six credit hours in Full Session and/or A Session in Summer Term 2019.
- Have a 2018-19 Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) on file. Students who do not have a FAFSA on file can complete one at fafsa.ed.gov to be considered for the contest.
- Be a degree-seeking, first time at Seminole State student or a degree-seeking student readmitting to the College for Summer Term 2019.
- Pay or defer tuition and fees by their initial payment deadline.
New or readmitting, degree-seeking students whose enrollment window is not open during the contest (March 18-May 1, 2019) may still be eligible.
Once the eligibility period has ended, the winning contestants will be notified via their Office 365 student email account. This offer is valid for Summer Term 2019 only. If a winning student drops below six credit hours at any point during Summer Term 2019 or does not attend for Summer Term 2019, the book money is forfeited. For students who receive book money, please note the following:
If you are a winner of the Summer Term 2019 Book Money contest, book purchases must be made from the Seminole State College Bookstore by May 15, 2019. If the money is not used by this date, the money is forfeited.
If a student who has received and made a purchase using their book money drops all of their courses prior to the drop deadline for Full Session (May 15), they will be responsible for returning the books in their original packaging. The books must be accompanied by the original receipt and returned to the bookstore by their refund deadline of 30 days after the first day of the semester. If the books are not returned by the deadline with the original receipt, or if any codes have been used or the packaging has been opened, students will be liable for the cost of the books, and the voucher will be voided. In addition, if a student swaps, adds or drops their courses, the student may exchange their books in the original packaging with the receipt within 30 days after the first day of Full Session as long as no digital codes have been redeemed. Please see the Seminole State Bookstore refund policy.
The book money must be spent in a single use. Any unused funds at the time of purchase will be forfeited.
This contest is not valid for Seminole State employees or their dependents who receive tuition reimbursement or fee waivers for classes taken in Summer Term 2019.
This effort is organized by Seminole State College of Florida, 100 Weldon Blvd., Sanford, FL 32773-6199. All interpretations of rules, eligibility, or other matters related to this contest will be determined by Seminole State College in its sole and absolute discretion.
