LEO0450 Economic Crimes Investigations

This is an advanced/specialized training course for law enforcement or corrections officers. This 16-hour training course would be applicable to the road/patrol officer, providing a greater understanding of the crimes they may encounter as the first responding officer. General assignment and/or newly appointed economic crimes investigators would benefit by learning about the crimes and their various elements as well as suggestions for investigative techniques. The topics that will be covered are check and credit card fraud, consumer fraud, identity theft, scams, and a basic understanding of traveling criminals. Students should have successfully completed the basic training course or have been exempted and possess sufficient experience and background to meet the standard core of knowledge. Students successfully completing this course are eligible for mandatory retraining requirements.
