The Leadership Institute

Step Forward

The Office of Student Life sponsors a series of leadership development events directed to enhance the participants' personal and professional skills.

Leadership Institute

This interactive program focuses on student skill development and growth. The Institute is made up of two different programs taking place simultaneously.

  • The Emerging Leaders' Program provides students a chance to network and meet lots of new people while at the same time developing their knowledge of leadership and leadership opportunities available to them. Some of the topics that will be covered will be basic leadership theory, Myers-Briggs personality theory, teamwork training, etc.
  • The Advanced Leaders' Program provides students who have had some leadership experience, the opportunity to further enhance their skills by focusing on topics such as personal vision and mission development, establishing a leadership philosophy, etc. In order to participate in this program, you must have either completed the Emerging Leaders' Program at a prior Leadership Institute, or have received leadership training as a members of any of the Student Life student programs (Student Government Association-SGA, Campus Activities Team-CAT, or Seminole State Volunteers-SSV).

Space is limited and, in the case of the Emerging Leaders' Program, priority will be given to first year college students. To apply, click on the Leadership Institute/Retreat" link located on the top left side of this page.
