GED® Test

The GED® test determines whether your skills match those of a typical high school graduate. Skills are assessed in:

  • Language Arts (150 minutes)
  • Mathematics (115 minutes)
  • Social Studies (90 minutes)
  • Science (90 minutes)

Requirements for taking the GED® Test

To take the GED® test, you must:

  • Be at least 18 years old. 
  • Present a valid government-issued and non-expired identification. The ID must include examinee's name, address, date of birth, signature and photograph.
  • Pay for your GED® test at the time of your GED® test online registration, when it is due.
  • Pay a fee of $128 for the full computer-based test, or $32 for each sub-test.*

If you pass all subtests, you will earn a high school equivalency diploma from the Florida Department of Education.

Computer-based GED® Test

Due to statewide changes, the paper-based GED® test is no longer offered. Students who did not finish the paper-based test in 2013 or before will need to retake the entire GED® test online. You can use the online resources to become familiar with the online test format and prepare for the GED® test online.

Register for the GED® Exam

Students who wish to take the GED® test must register on the GED® Testing Services registration website.

The GED® testing fee for the full computer-based exam is $128, and the price is $32 for each sub-test.

Accommodations are available for students with documented disabilities. You must submit your request for accommodations at the time of your online registration with the GED Testing Service®.
