Vote now in the 2014 SGA elections

Students and SGA members participate in an ice-breaker game during an SGA meeting on Seminole State's Oviedo Campus.

The Seminole State Student Government Association (SGA) is holding its annual election to fill several officer positions. Up for grabs on each of the College’s four campuses include the seats of president, vice president and secretary/treasurer.

“Voting on SGA elections is very important,” says Mauricio Garcia, assistant director of the Office of Student Life. “Not only does it offer students a chance to elect their representatives, but also provides them the opportunity to have input in the future of the college and the issues affecting students.”

To introduce the students running for office, the SGA will hold “Meet the Candidates” events on the Sanford/Lake Mary, Altamonte Springs and Heathrow campuses next week. The dates and times for these events are:

  • Sanford/Lake Mary: Monday, March 31, at 12:30 p.m. in room C-110.
  • Altamonte Springs: Tuesday, April 1, at 12:30 p.m. in the Atrium
  • Heathrow: Tuesday, April 1, at 5 p.m. in Atrium

The “Meet the Candidates” event for the Oviedo Campus was held on March 20.

Students can vote online April 7-8 via a link that will be sent to students’ Live Mail accounts. Students also can cast ballots in-person for the candidates at their respective campuses.
