Synchronous online courses offering real-time interaction start Jan. 13

Starting in Spring Term 2014, Seminole State College of Florida's Center for Business, Legal and Entrepreneurship will offer its first synchronous online courses, which provide students the interaction of a live classroom without leaving the comfort of their own homes.

With this format, students will be able to hear live audio, ask questions and interact with their professors and classmates in real time. Students will log in to Sakai, the College’s system for online courses, during scheduled class times and participate in a live lecture. All assignments, tests and discussion forums will be completed by specific deadlines that occur outside regular class times.

The synchronous online courses available for Spring Term are:

  • Introduction to Business (GEB 1011 – Class No. 7970). This course will be offered Thursdays from 6:30 – 9:15 p.m.
  • Personal Finance (FIN 2100 – Class No. 7969). This course will be offered Tuesdays from 6:30 – 9:15 p.m.

Both classes start Jan. 13, 2014. Open Enrollment for Spring Term is underway. Log in to MySeminoleState to register.

For more information on the courses, please contact Business Administration Program Manager George Bernard at 407.708.2436.
