The Office of Student Life on the Sanford/Lake Mary Campus is getting an upgrade. The office will move to building L, Room 204 on Friday, Nov. 8, while the current location in the Student Center (building C) is renovated.
Funded by student activity and service fees, the remodel will include updated furniture, new carpet and paint. In addition, the office’s conference room will be converted to an office for Student Government Association (SGA) and space for student organizations to meet and work. These upgrades will allow Student Life staff and student leaders to collaborate more easily, says Dr. Jan Lloyd, Associate Vice President for Student Development.
“With the redesign, there will be an intentional space for these groups to come together,” Lloyd says. “It provides space not only for SGA and student leaders but also for other students to come in, connect with the student leadership and get involved. The goal is to increase student engagement on campus.”
Student Life staff will return to the renovated space in the Student Center on Dec. 6. Student Life offices at other campuses will not be affected.
