In a surprise presentation at her high school on Wednesday, May 1, Seminole High School student Dana Liang was awarded a full scholarship to Seminole State College of Florida through the Orlando Magic Youth Fund (OMYF).
Magic Community Ambassador Bo Outlaw, Magic mascot STUFF and the Magic’s scholarship committee traveled to Seminole High School to surprise Liang with news of her scholarship. The scholarship is made possible through the Orlando Magic Youth Fund, a McCormick Foundation Fund.
Liang received a two-year scholarship for $6,000 and plans to study accounting at Seminole State.
The OMYF also awarded a scholarship to future Valencia College student Reina Ubiles. Students who receive the OMYF scholarships must be graduating seniors from Seminole, Orange or Osceola counties who plan to attend Seminole or Valencia in the fall.
