SGA election April 8-9: Be an informed voter

The 2013 SGA elections will take place April 8 & 9.

The Seminole State Student Government Association (SGA) is holding its annual election to fill several officer positions. Up for grabs on each of the four campuses include the seats of president, vice president and secretary/treasurer.

“Voting on SGA elections is very important,” says Mauricio Garcia, assistant director of the Office of Student Life. “Not only does it offer students a chance to elect their representatives, but also provides them the opportunity to have input in the future of the college and the issues affecting students.”

To introduce those running, the SGA held “Meet the Candidates” events on the Sanford/Lake Mary and Oviedo campuses. There also will be a chance to get to know the candidates on April 2 on the Altamonte Springs and Heathrow campuses at the following times and locations: 11 a.m. in the Altamonte Springs Atrium and 4 p.m. in HEA-203.

Students can vote online April 8- 9 via a link that will be sent to students’ Live Mail accounts. Students also can cast ballots for the candidates at their respective campuses.
