Hispanic Heritage scholarship deadline May 13

Applications are being accepted for $5,000 scholarships from the Hispanic Heritage Scholarship Fund of Metro Orlando. Typically, the organization awards about 20 scholarships to college students around Central Florida.

To qualify, students must:

  • Be of Hispanic heritage
  • Be a U.S. citizen or legal permanent resident
  • Have applied for federal financial aid using the FAFSA
  • Be enrolled full- or part-time in a degree-seeking program at Seminole State
  • Have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0
  • Attend the scholarship award gala in late October

All applications must be completed online at the Hispanic Heritage Scholarship Fund's application page. Applicants also may be required to provide transcripts, financial aid statements and letters of recommendation via mail. Applications and all supplemental materials must be received by Friday, May 13.

The Hispanic Heritage Scholarship Fund is the largest nonprofit organization in Central Florida dedicated to providing scholarships to Hispanic students who are pursuing a college or university degree. Last year, two Seminole State students were awarded scholarships.
