For the third straight year, Seminole State's Brain Bowl team won all of its games and won the Florida College System Activities Association (FCSAA) Regional Brain Bowl Tournament on Friday, Feb. 10.
This year’s team members were Robert Crawford, Brandon Gerber, Dennis Hogan, Dustin Lore and Stephanie Lore. Second-year player Dustin Lore finished first individually in the competition.
The tournament was held at Florida State College at Jacksonville.
Seminole State is one of only 10 institutions in the Florida College System that have been invited to compete in the FCSAA State Tournament March 22-24 at Central Florida College in Ocala.
On Feb. 24 and 25, the College’s Brain Bowl team will compete in the National Academic Quiz Tournaments (NAQT) Community College Championship Tournament in Panama City. Seminole State is ranked seventh of the 24 teams that were invited to this competition.
On Friday, Feb. 17, the College's Oviedo Campus will host the county’s high schools in the 18th Annual Battle of the Brains competition.
